Who? Students in the Hamilton-area from any college, university, or adult education course/program (and people planning to return to school) who personally experience psychiatric systems, madness, mental illness, mental health disability, emotional or spiritual distress, etc.

Can’t make the meeting? Looking for support? Join our active email discussion listserv to continue this and other conversations. The listserv is a private place for members to talk about our lives, support each other, discuss ideas, share info/resources/events/news, and arrange spontaneous gatherings. We also host regular informal peer support meetings and social events -- details get posted to our listserv. See www.hamiltonmadstudents.ca for further info.

About us:

The Hamilton Mad Students Collective formed in 2012. Members are students age 16+ in the Hamilton-area who are attending or preparing to attend any school. This includes students on a leave of absence from school and planning to return.

All members self-identify as having personally experienced madness, mental health disability, mental illness, significant spiritual or emotional distress, and/or the psychiatric/mental health system. Some refer to ourselves as Mad, crazy, service users, psychiatric survivors, neuroatypical, mentally ill, or disabled.
