Get More for Less:

Organizations are continually under pressure to do better with less despite increasing budgetary constraints. Accessibility Camp Ottawa 2014 offers exceptional value for organizations with budgetary constraints. Attendees can select from twelve half-day accessibility workshops. The attendee fee for this Camp is the same or less than the published fee to attend one workshop.

This Camp is part of the University of Ottawa's Community Accessibility Initiative, which assists organizations to meet accessibility requirements, and specifically AODA compliance. The Community Accessibility Initiative is unique in the scope and quality of accessibility training offered.

Accessibility Camp Ottawa 2014

The University of Ottawa's Accessibility Camp 2014 takes place August 19th and 20th with an optional one-day workshop on August 18th. Attendees may select from twelve half-day accessibility workshops.

Attend this Camp and receive the tools and techniques on how to create and sustain accessible environments in the workplace, how to address barriers, plus how to effectively manage your strategic goals incorporating accessibility.

Who Should Attend the Camp?

If your organization has completed an accessibility assessment, you may already know who should attend this Camp. We have tried to make it easy with organizations content streams.

Many of the workshops in the Information Technology Stream are instructional, 'how-to' workshops where attendees learn from computer workstations. Accessible multimedia, forms, PDF documents and WCAG 2.0 are examples of these workshops.

All individuals who manage staff would benefit from workshops in the Human Resources Stream. AODA employment standards are complex. It is important for staff to have a comprehensive understanding of barriers, accommodations and the rights of employees with disabilities. Because Human Resources often spearheads accessibility throughout the organizations, workshops are included here that relate to managing accessibility.

The third content stream is the Communications and Administration Stream. Workshops here address important subjects such as accessible procurement, and accessible meetings and conferences. It is important for for Communications personnel to understand WCAG 2.0 principles and guidelines. Workshops in this stream address WCAG 2.0.
