Description	The Yellow Door Choir is pleased to announce the first of many celebrations in store for its 30th anniversary year! The songs of the passerines may be gone until spring, but you can escape the cold silence of winter by joining us for an evening of community spirit wrapped in the warm embrace of song and a beat that inspires us all to fly. In association with Donald Berman UP House, we will be presenting "Le rhythme de la vie" on Saturday, January 26 at 8pm, and we need your help to make this fundraising event a success! Song selections are driven by the pulsing vibe of Cy Coleman's Rhythm of Life and include an Irish Gaelic tale of a wren, Eric Whitacre's spiritual setting of Little Birds by Octavio Paz, Stephen Hatfield's take on a Polynesian bird chorus, a collection of Canadian folk songs arranged by Margrit Cattell, a song from a cappella whizzes The Real Group and one inspired by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, as well as a new number commissioned from Montreal jazz artist Chad Linsley. If you listen closely you might even hear a few of those song birds echoing in the rafters of the Loyola Chapel. :) Proceeds from the concerts will benefit Donald Berman UP House, a new program in Montreal that is fulfilling its mission to help adults with mental illness live a life filled with hope, to realize their dreams and to find a meaningful and rewarding place in the community in which they live and work.
