The Biotechnology Laboratory of Health Canada, Ottawa is looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow starting in September 2012. The successful applicant will carry out analysis of microbial genomes of biotechnology organisms and consortia in order to develop methods towards determination of pathogenic potential at the genomic and transcriptomic levels. Duties may include wet-bench work, and computational and statistical analysis of next-generation sequencing data. Applicants must have a PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, or related discipline. Additional qualifications include: computational skills and program language proficiency (PERL, or PYTHON), as well as R (bioconductor) and a good publication record.

Application Instructions

The position would continue for a minimum of 2 years. Applicants will be hired through the NSERC Visiting Fellowships in Canadian Government Laboratories Program.
