MediaYork University's Critical Disability Studies Graduate Student Conference - April 9th, 2013
York University’s Critical Disability Studies Student Association (CDSSA) will be holding its 9th annual graduate student conference on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at York University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The conference is meant to showcase graduate students across the globe and their work relating to themes and issues within the scope of Critical Disability Studies. The event is interdisciplinary. The reviewing committee would also welcome artists to submit up to 3 slides of their work in photography, mixed media, works on paper, video, or sculpture exploring art and aesthetics related to the discipline of Critical Disability Studies. Call for papers: We welcome innovative and creative presentations that are engaging and accessible, and that reflect a wide range of experiences, knowledge and research regarding disability matters in national and international contexts. Important dates and details: Please submit a 150-200 word abstract proposals for presentations by January 7th, 2013 as attachments in Microsoft Word format to cds_grad@yorku.ca. All abstracts will be reviewed by the CDSSA adjudication committee. Authors might be asked to present their work as posters instead of as paper presentations. All presenters must register for the conference. Registration deadline is March 15th, 2013 and is FREE. Presentations will be scheduled in 20 minute sessions. For those requiring disability accommodations, registration deadline is February 28th, 2013.
