AQEIPS presents 2002-2003 Bursaries in Montreal

The Quebec Association for Post-Secondary Disabled Students (AQEIPS) presented bursaries to eight deserving students with disabilities during a ceremony held in Montreal on Friday, April 4th, 2003 at the Crown Plaza Hotel. The awards, a certificate and a cheque for $500, were handed-out by Patrick Desjardins, President of AQEIPS and supporters including Richard Lavigne, President of the Confédération des organismes de personnes handicapées du Québec (COPHAN). This is the seventh time the Association has presented these bursaries.

The recipients for 2002-2003 are:

  • Manuel Cloutier, École Tremplin de Thetford Mines
  • Steve Payette, John Abbott College
  • Geneviève Vanier, École Polytechnique
  • Sophie Goulet, Université Laval
  • Mélissa Michon-Beaulieu, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières
  • Rémi Bourget, Université du Québec à Montréal
  • Vilayvanh Tithavong, École des Hautes Études Commerciales
  • Jean Forté, Université du Québec à Montréal

The AQEIPS bursary program was sponsored this year by: Conseil des Syndicats du Québec, La fédération des Travaileurs et travailleuses du Québec, Le Conseil des Syndicats Nationaux, La Fédération des Enseignants et Enseignantes du Québec, Le Syndicat des Professionnels du Gouvernement du Québec, and La Fédération des Étudiantes Universitaires du Québec.
