High School TransitionFunding and Scholarship ProgramsBritish Columbia Student LoansBritish Columbia Student Loans are provided to eligible students through a standard application process. The amount of assistance you may receive is determined through a needs-assessment. The province of BC follows similar policies and regulations as those set by the federal government. To be considered eligible for provincial assistance you must first be eligible for a Canada Student Loan. As is the case with the Canada Student Loans program, the provincial government pays the interest on BC Student Loans while a student is enrolled in full-time post-secondary study. Students begin paying interest six months after their final classes, and are responsible for making payment arrangements with the lending institution.
