Saskatchewan Voice of People with Disabilities Inc.

This organization emerged in 1973 out of the “A Voice of Our Own” cross-disability conference held that year in Moose Jaw. It aims to ensure full participation for people with disabilities, and does this through advocating for disability-related programs and services, and by promoting community awareness of the needs and experiences of those with disabilities.

Among its successes, the Voice was one of the founding members of COPOH, Council of Canadians with Disabilities (CCD) in 1978, and has successfully advocated for a number of government projects and legislative changes to include people with disabilities.
