Society of Manitobans with Disabilities (SMD)

The Society of Manitobans with Disabilities works to promote and support the independence, participation and empowerment of persons with disabilities.

The SMD’s Web site is a work in progress, but it features a classified section for mobility aids (wheelchairs, vans, etc), as well as information on the various services offered by the organization.

Among the services the SMD offers are: employment services that help people with disabilities establish career goals and explore a variety of job opportunities; job training and follow-up services; and a life skills program, which provides activities looking at such things as finance, transportation, health and recreation needs.
