Disabled Students’ Leadership On-Campus
ABLE-York
ABLE-York is a student organization that promotes the rights of students
with disabilities on campus. This group has permanent office space,
support from the York Students’ Association. It meets once a week to
address issues. ABLE-York provides a number of services and disability
resources to York students, staff and faculty. These services include peer
support, TTY access for public use and an extensive disability and health
resource library. The library consists of a range of subjects and mediums
including Braille, print, audio and visual material. Other services include
a drop-in centre and private resting rooms that provide a quiet area for
persons with disabilities.
