Disabled Students Orientation: Students For Barrier-Free Access - University of Toronto

Join Students for Barrier-free Access (SBA) for a student-run orientation for disabled students and student advocates. Whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student, full-time or part-time, new or returning, an international or transfer student, this orientation is for you!

Topics covered at the orientation will include:

- Know Your Rights as a disabled student
- self-advocacy and navigating academic accommodations
- available campus resources and services
- an introduction to Students for Barrier-Free Access resources and services.

Speakers include:

Edgar-Andre Montigny Staff Lawyer, ARCH Disability Law Centre
Nick Hill, Disability Law Intensive Program, ARCH Disability Law Centre
Ellen Hodnett, Ombudsperson, Office of the University Ombudsperson, University of Toronto

Come meet other disabled students, as well as SBA board members, staff and volunteers.

Date: Friday October 21, 2016

Time: 1pm - 3pm

Location: 252 Bloor Street West (OISE) room 5240, 5th floor

Everyone welcome!

Accessible and gender-neutral washroom located on the same floor as the event room.

SBA is a student run organization that advocates for equity, access and the rights of Dis-Abled students at U of T.

SBA works towards eliminating physical, informational and attitudinal barriers on campus.

The SBA Centre is open Monday to Thursday from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM and from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
