Description	MINIMAL ACTION 3: Words of Disability+Poverty go to MPPs: Student, Faculty and Community Letter Writing Campaign This event invites students, faculty and community members to Ryerson University to participate in an evening of letter writing to raise concerns about the Ontario Conservative government�s reorganization of social services without community consultation. These letters will be mailed to Ontario Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) and published on the MINIMAL ACTION 3 website (address below) before the November 8 release of the reorganzied social assistance system. October 10th, 2018 --- 5-8pm Location: Ryerson University 99 Gerrard Street East (southwest corner of Gerrard and Mutual) Sally Horsfall Eaton Centre for Studies in Community Health (SHE) 5th floor: School Of Disability Studies Room SHE 560 https://www.ryerson.ca/maps/ doors open at 4:45pm --- starts at 5pm sharp Accessibility: The room is wheelchair accessible. The room is near to an all-gender accessible washroom. There will be ASL interpretation. There will be computers especially equipped with screen readers. There will be active listening on site. If you can't attend but want to publish your letter on our webpage, please email it to the address listed below. Thank you to the Faculty of Community Services, Ryerson University for supporting access at this event. Plan for the event: background information will be shared about the ongoing 100 days of review/redesign of social assistance by Minister MacLeod and the rationale for this letter-writing gesture explained. Then, there will be guidance to prepare yourself to write and time to write on site. A list of MPPs' addresses, paper, envelopes, stamps and snacks will be available. You will leave when you will need to or are done.
