Darryl Stickel

Darryl holds a PhD in Business from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, with a specialization in Organizational Behaviour, and an emphasis on conflict resolution, negotiation, justice, strategy and trust. Prior to receiving his doctorate, Darryl received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters degree in Public Administration. Darryl’s doctoral thesis was titled “Building Trust in Hostile Environments.” It dealt with the development of the trust model that is core to understanding and building trust.

Darryl has worked with an extremely broad array of individuals and organizations on trust issues. Among the industries served are financial services, heavy industry, telecommunications, non-profits, and the public sector. A wide range of relational issues have been addressed including internal labour management issues, customer relations, and relationship with service providers. Darryl recently assisted the Canadian military in attempting to rebuild trust with the local population in Afghanistan. He has also worked with numerous companies on organizational, operational and strategic issues as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, one of the world’s leading management consulting firms.
