The Coalition of Persons With Disabilities (COD)

The Coalition of Persons with Disabilities is a consumer organization representing the interests and issues of persons with disabilities in Newfoundland and Labrador. COD is a member group of the Council of Canadians With Disabilities and addresses such areas as: housing, education, employment, transportation and human rights. Currently, COD is working with the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the two departments responsible for education – the Department of Education (K- 12) and the Department of Youth Services and Post-Secondary Education – to address the transition to post-secondary education for disabled students in the province. One initiative that is being considered is the development of a mandatory career planning guide for high school students.
