Campuses that care! A guide to safe working, learning and living

Join the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) and the Canadian Federation of Students - Ontario (CFS-Ontario) on June 25 at 7:00 p.m. for a webinar called Campuses that care! A guide to safe working, learning and living.

Health and safety are on the minds of many students and post-secondary workers as they return to campuses.

Students and workers are greatly affected by the realities of poor funding to post-secondary institutions and the impact it has on the health and safety of those who work and study on campuses. Join this webinar to be part of a discussion on the three rights all workers need to know about when entering workplaces and educational spaces: the right to participate, know and refuse. We will also discuss joint health and safety committees and what health and safety will look like on campuses during and beyond COVID-19. Panelists will offer different perspectives and renew the call for greater student and worker solidarity.

This webinar is a space for organizing conversations, as students and workers join together in defining the new normal at their respective campuses to ensure their voices are heard when campuses begin to re-open.

This webinar is being presented through a partnership between OFL and CFS-Ontario to build a better understanding of Health & Safety for all students and post-secondary workers as they return to campuses.

Panelists include:

Kayla Weiler, CFS

Ankit Tripathi, CFS

Kathleen Webster, OUWCC

Merlin Charles, OUWCC

James Watson, OUWCC Rep for McMaster & CUPE 3906 Rep to Hamilton Labour Council

RSVP now and we’ll send you the link to join the webinar.
