  • The transition from school to work
  • Conducting an effective job search
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Arranging job accommodations
  • Considerations for disclosure
  • Learning how to network / accessing the hidden job market
  • Understanding the job market and what employers seek
  • First-hand employment experience as a postsecondary student, recent grad or employee with a disability

Come make a difference that will help post-secondary students with disabilities pursue their own career goals by presenting your best tips and important strategies to employment.

Please indicate in the comment section of the form whether you wish to deliver a 10 minute, 20 minute or 30 minute presentation. A member of the selection committee will contact you to discuss further. Please note, a Q&A will follow each presentation and your preferred presentation length does not include Q&A time.

  • Career counsellors
  • Employers or HR professionals who can share insights on the job search process.
  • Employees with disabilities who can share their experiences with career development.
  • Post-secondary students or recent graduates with disabilities who have first-hand work experience (i.e. summer job, internship, co-op, volunteer placement, etc.)

If you are selected as a guest speaker, the bio you provide will be posted on the event website.

The NEADS Staff may contact you by phone or email to further discuss your topic proposal.

Presenters who will be using PowerPoint will be asked to submit PowerPoints at least one week prior to the event in order for alternative formats to be accommodated.
