NEADS' Toronto Job Search Strategies Forum

Subsidy Program

In order to increase the participation of students with disabilities who have unique equity issues within the disability community, NEADS and our project funder, are pleased to announce a Subsidy Program for the Toronto Job Search Strategies Forum.

Through the subsidy program, students and graduates with disabilities who are selected for support may receive assistance to cover the following expenses, based on need: travel expenses to Toronto, hotel accommodation for one night (room and tax) at the hotel, child care, attendant care and meals.

NEADS recognizes that certain groups of people within the disability population face greater barriers to accessing education and employment than others. This includes (but is not limited to) students and graduates with disabilities who :

  • face barriers to education and employment
  • are women
  • are parents
  • live in poverty
  • live in rural or remote regions
  • live in under-represented schools or communities
  • are First Nations or Aboriginal

The objectives of this program are to strengthen our network, provide an opportunity to students and graduates with disabilities whose experience is under-represented due to geographic isolation and/or unique equity issues, and encourage leadership development in those interested in the goals of NEADS.

Those wishing to apply must live in ON and be enrolled in a post-secondary institution or have graduated within the last two years.

Applications should be submitted by .
