F.J.L. Woodcock/Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blinded Scholarship Foundation

At the 1989 Reunion of the Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blinded, members voted to establish a permanent foundation. Through this foundation scholarships will continue to be provided to blind students in perpetuity.

Since its inception, the Foundation has received generous support from members, friends, Lions Clubs, branches of the Royal Canadian Legion and other groups and organizations.

Eligibility

Students who have not more than 20/70 vision after corrections, and who are continuing either their vocational or academic education are eligible for a F.J.L. Woodcock/Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blinded Scholarship. Students should have a high degree of motivation, a reasonable level of achievement, and find the scholarship of assistance.

Scholarships

The Board of Directors of the Foundation meets early in the year to establish the number and value of the scholarships which will be awarded in May. Over 50 scholarships were awarded to qualifying students graduating from grade eight and from secondary school for a total value of $19,500.
