Barrier Free Saskatchewan Town Hall Meeting in Regina on December 5th

On Thursday, December 5th there was a town hall meeting convened in Regina, Saskatchewan, to establish a coalition of like-minded, cross-disability organizations to advocate for the disabled community of Saskatchewan. This meeting was held in response to the Saskatchewan Government Throne Speech which indicated a willingness and interest in establishing an Accessible Saskatchewan Act, in the spirit of the Accessible Canada Act, passed into law in June of 2019. Brady Kroeker, Saskatchewan Director of the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) attended the town hall. While it is early days for the legislative process, it is an exciting time for the community in the province to become principle stakeholders and participants in this legislation moving forward.
