About this Event
The Accessibility Advisory Council (Council) invites you to attend a public consultation in the morning (9:00 am to 11:30 am; Registration is at 8:30 am) of Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Viscount Gort Hotel, Main Floor (Royal ABC), 1670 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg.

The Council will use your input to develop its final report and recommendations to government regarding the Design of Public Spaces Accessibility Standard. Please send your comments and submissions to access@gov.mb.ca by February 14, 2020, or contact the Disabilities Issues Office:

Mail: 630 - 240 Graham Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3C 0J7
Phone: 204-945-7613 / Toll Free: 1-800-282-8069, Ext. 7613

The Manitoba government enacted The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) in 2013 to identify, prevent, and remove barriers that affect Manitobans in their daily lives. The AMA calls upon the Council to advise and make recommendations for the development of standards to regulate what public and private organizations must do, and by when, to achieve accessibility.

Please help us create a scent free environment. Sign language (ASL) interpretation, real time captioning and personal care attendants will be available onsite. If you require additional disability accommodations to participate, please let Tracy MacMillan know directly by calling 204-945-7613 or email Tracy.MacMillan@gov.mb.ca.
We hope you can attend. Thank you.
