Back To School: National Disabled Student Advocacy Campaign

August 9th, 2022

Algonquin Anishinabe Territory/Ottawa, ON

As disabled students across the country prepare for the Fall 2022 term, many are facing anxiety, frustration, and discrimination as mask and vaccine mandates lift and hybrid options are rolled back.

The National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) is seeking written submissions from disabled students across Canada detailing their thoughts, feelings, and anxieties as they return to unsafe, inaccessible environments.

While we welcome all submissions in any format and can make submissions anonymous, we recommend that submissions include:

- up to 5 sentences detailing your thoughts on your post-secondary institution's Fall 2022 plans

- your name and pronouns

- your school and program

- affiliated student organizations or unions (if applicable)

- a picture of yourself and social media handles (if comfortable with social media promotions)

We ask that submissions be submitted to carly.fox@neads.ca or to NEADS' social media accounts via DM by August 26th, 11:59pm. Submissions will be collected and shared in an accessible PDF on NEADS' website disabilityawards.ca and through NEADS' social media, with participants and allies strongly encouraged to circulate it!
