Call for Focus Group Participants Disabled Students and Employees in Skilled Trades
On August 29, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 am ET, the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum (CAF-FCA) will moderate a focus group for disabled students in Ontarian skilled trades program and disabled employees in the Ontarian skilled trades sectors to learn from their experiences and expertise. This focus group will be held via Zoom and will last between 60 to 120 minutes. Participants will receive an honorarium for their capacity and expertise.
Findings from the focus group will be aggregated and summarized into an employer guide for 1,500 Ontario employers in the skilled trades sectors such as manufacturing, food, or infrastructure. The goal of this research is to help Ontario employers to hire and train apprentices with disabilities so that they can benefit from well-paid and full-time employment in the skilled trades. This project is being funded by the Government of Ontario’s EnAbling Change Program.
ASL interpretation and captioning will be provided.
