LOCATION: Toronto

MINIMUM START SALARY: $11.25 per hour -

POSITION STATUS: 8-week contract during the period of June 20th – August 12th 2016; 35 hours per week -

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is an 8 week Canada Summer Jobs position within the CHS Toronto office in the Information Technology Department, located at 271 Spadina Rd., Toronto. The students will work in cooperation with department staff to facilitate the delivery and promotion of professional services; will work in cooperation with staff to support the IT program specific content and provide customer and information services

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct hardware and software research as required Assist in the development of software training materials. Assist with the installation and set-up of equipment and programs Provide material for the CHS website. Promote the use of assistive communication devices. Assist with research and preparation of materials related to CHS Information.

Technology services:

Provide clerical support for client services Other duties as assigned

LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Reports to Director, Information Technology

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 3; and, be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. Understanding of IT related methods and language Proficiency in MS Office Suite Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details required Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a highly confidential environment Previous experience working with Deaf, oral deaf, deafened or hard of hearing individuals an asset American Sign Language (ASL) skills an asset Ability to work independently and within a team
