The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Scholarship Program

The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Scholarship Program was established in 2002. This Program is supported by donations of the members of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA) and by the generous contributions from the Algar family and Doreen Laszlo (spouse of Dr. Charles Laszlo). We encourage applicants to review the eligibility criteria before applying to the CHHA Scholarship Program.

Applicants to the CHHA Scholarship Program must be either hard of hearing, deafened or oral deaf with the premise that all applicants use spoken language as their primary means of communication. Those who communicate primarily through sign languages are directed to the Canadian Association for the Deaf.

Eligible applicants may be first-time or returning post-secondary students at a recognized College or University.  Students should be registered in or planning to register for a full-time program as of September 2017.  Applicants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident/landed immigrant, convention refugee or a protected person living in Canada, as defined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Field of study may be a factor in the selection process for some scholarships.

We are pleased to announce that the 2017 scholarship application form is now available online, with a deadline of March 3, 2017 at 3 pm (EST). Please use the "Apply Now!" button below to access the application:  http://www.chha.ca/forms/en/
