What is Accessibility?
“Don't just include students with 'obvious' disabilities when you are considering accessibility....there are many 'invisible' disabilities that are often overlooked.”
For the purposes of this document, accessibility is defined as the opportunity for students with disabilities to participate in the same extracurricular activities as their non-disabled peers.
Accessibility includes both the removal of physical barriers to participation as well as environmental and attitudinal barriers. Inclusion goes far beyond ramps and elevators.
